You guys are not going to believe who Kristin Chenoweth wants to star in the new Wicked movie. That’s right, in case you missed it, they’re turning the Broadway classic musical into a movie, and the OG actress has some pretty epic ideas for the cast. Drum roll please… Kristin actually wants Dove Cameron and Ariana Grande to be the leading ladies, and um, we are so here for this!

The Glee actress, who played Glinda, the good witch, in the Broadway play, wants Dove to take on her role. As fans know, the 50-year-old actress played Dove’s mom in the Descendants movies, as well as in Hairspray Live!, so she knows her pretty well.

“I have done two movies with her and I’ve played her mother twice, so I would see that as passing the crown so to speak,” Kristen said on The Talk.

As for 25-year-old “Sweetener” singer, who was also in Hairspray Live!, Kristin thinks she would be perfect for the role of Elphaba, Glinda’s best friend.

“I think Ariana Grande would make the perfect Elphaba,” she continued. “Both of them have got to be great actors and great singers, and [be] funny and sad, and both good and evil, and I just think they have it.”

Um, can this happen please?! Ariana and Dove actually grew pretty close during Hairspray Live!, so they’d definitely have an easy time playing best friends in Wicked. And, in fact, there have been rumors circulating for months that Dove may play Glinda in the new movie, which the Disney actress addressed back in February. It turns out, she was totally surprised by the rumors.

“Well, that just totally shocked me and threw me for a loop!” the 23-year-old told Entertainment Tonight at the 2019 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party on February 15. “I don’t think everyone wants me to be Glinda but, I mean, it’s like the role of a lifetime. I’ve been dreaming of it since I was, like, 7. I mean, I should be so lucky to be considered. Kristin has been my main inspiration since I was seven. I’m a massive fan, so it’d be a huge responsibility and I would be lucky to be considered!”

The movie will hit theaters in December of 2021, and we cannot wait.
