Netflix’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star Lana Condor has officially added singer to her already impressive resume! Yep, on Friday, August 28, the 23-year-old dropped her debut single, “For Real,” and according to Lana herself, it’s super a “personal” track.

Before the song dropped on all streaming services, the actress took to Instagram and explained to her 10 million followers that the song — which has some pretty romantic lyrics — was created by songwriter Andrew Tufano after Lana shared a “personal journal entry” with him.

“He literally made magic,” she wrote alongside the single’s cover art.

“The stronger I feel /So independent / Alone at the wheel / And maybe because I’m OK without you / That’s how I know that I love you for real,” the lyrics read.

From the sound of it, the track is all about being strong and independent when you’ve found the one that you’re meant to spend the rest of your life with. Talk about true love!

As fans know, this isn’t the first time Lana sang about love. “For Real” might be her first solo song, but in February, she sang alongside her boyfriend, Anthony De La Torre, on his song “Raining In London.” After showing off her stunning voice for the first time, Lana said singing was “a very difficult, traumatizing experience” for her.

“I just felt so uncomfortable because it’s not my thing that I do for a living. So, it was like pulling teeth to actually get me to do it and then finally, the last night we were recording, I just was like ‘screw it.’ I just did it and I took off the headphones and just threw them,” she told Genius in an interview about “Raining In London.”

Now, just months later, it looks like Lana might have officially found her place in the music world.
