Worldwide success comes with a lot of money! The One Direction boys rose to fame following their stint on U.K.’s The X Factor in 2010, and now, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik‘s net worths as solo stars are pretty impressive.
After releasing four albums — Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories and Four — Zayn announced his departure from the group in March 2015. Months later, the remaining four members dropped their last record as a band, Made in the A.M., before announcing their indefinite hiatus.
The boys have yet to reunite since they’ve been busy with their own successful solo music careers. Although they’ve all dropped at least one solo record each, the 1D boys definitely haven’t forgotten how they got their start in Hollywood.
“I think the typical thing is to come out of a band like that and almost feel like you have to apologize for being in it,” Harry, for one, told Vogue during a November 2020 interview.
“But I loved my time in it. It was all new to me, and I was trying to learn as much as I could. I wanted to soak it in … I think that’s probably why I like traveling now — soaking stuff up.”
The “Watermelon Sugar” star has become a global phenomenon following his 1D days. With two solo albums under his belt, Harry has also dipped his toe into the acting world.
Zayn, for his part, went on to release three albums while Louis and Liam have dropped one record. Both of them are set to have their second albums in the works. As for Niall, he also has put out two albums and opened up about working on music as a solo artist compared to in a band.
“I’ve been doing it for ten years, so it’s about time I took the reins,” he told GQ in March 2020. “And it’s been great. Even down to the creative elements, I’ve found with the upcoming album that I’ve become a lot more creative, whether that’s writing my last video or designing the set for my tour. … The whole process has been more stretched out, whereas in the band, everything was going at once. Make an album, shoot a video, bang, bang, bang. And before you knew it, it was all done.”
