It looks like Perrie Edwards is completely unbothered by the news that her ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik is about to become a father. That’s right, news broke on Tuesday, April 28 that the One Direction member and his girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, were expecting their first child together, and now, the Little Mix singer has broken her silence.
While speaking to Australia’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show, the 26-year-old explained that she’s been spending the last few weeks quarantined with her boyfriend, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and that they’re having “the time of their life.”
“I can’t lie, I’m having the time of my life,” she said. “I’ve never spent so much time with my boyfriend, I’ve never spent so much time in my house, and I’ve never had so much time on my hands just to do stuff that I’ve always wanted to do, so it has been nice, but I’m losing track of what day it is.”
For those who forgot, the blonde beauty and the “Pillowtalk” crooner first met after One Direction performed on her season of The X Factor. Although rumors first hit the web that they were dating in December 2011, the couple didn’t confirm their romance until May 2012, when they were spotted kissing during a romantic scooter ride. After that, they were practically inseparable — the pair constantly gushed over each other in interviews, shared the cutest pictures together and packed on the PDA all over the world! Zayn even got a tattoo of the “Shoutout To My Ex” songstress’ face on his arm. She was by his side through most of One Direction, and fans were living for the relationship.
In August 2013, the pair confirmed that they were engaged, with Zayn’s mom telling the Dorset Echo, “It’s official. I’m over the moon. They are really in love.” But in March 2015, rumors started spreading that Zayn had cheated on the blonde beauty when a photo of him cozying up to a mystery girl hit the web. The 27-year-old quickly denied the allegations, writing on Twitter, “I’m 22 years old… I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there’s a lot of jealous f**ks in this world I’m sorry for what it looks like.”
But in August 2015 — just months after Zayn left One Direction — fans were devastated when he revealed that he had officially called off his engagement to Perrie.
Months after that, he entered into a relationship with Gigi, who he’s been on-and-off with since. Life & Style confirmed that the two stars were gearing up to welcome a baby together on April 28, 2020. It’s been reported that the model is 20-weeks along in her pregnancy and that she’s having a girl.
