Everyone knows that Taylor Swift is the absolute queen of hidden messages, right? She’s constantly throwing in clues, secret notes and little tributes in her lyrics and music videos. Well, the singer recently dropped her much-anticipated single “ME!” with Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie, and the music video has a ton of Easter eggs in it.
Think you’ve discovered all the clues she left in the video? Think again, folks! Apparently, the “Look What You Made Me Do” songstress has included layers upon layers of Easter eggs in that one single video, and do you want to know the best part? We won’t discover some of them until she actually goes on tour!
In an interview on the Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp radio show, the pop star said, “When more music comes out they’ll realize that there are dozens of lyrical references and symbolic references. … But I try to do Easter eggs in, like, kind of first round is stuff they can see that predicts what will happens in a couple months.”
But that’s not all! Tay’s included two other categories of clues that fans won’t know for a while.
“There’s also, like, second-tier Easter eggs,” she explained, “which will be revealed upon the album. Then there’s third-tier Easter eggs, which are the most deeply embedded Easter eggs, which will be, like, shown on the tour.” Is she a genius, or what?
Even if we haven’t yet discovered all the little hints she’s so thoughtfully left for us, we’re still loving the track and watching the music video on repeat. And sure, we’re mostly re-watching it to see if we pick up on any clues we may have missed.
