Ever since Cats hit theaters on December 20, 2019, the movie has received a lot of criticism — but it certainly hasn’t phased Taylor Swift! The singer just responded to the haters, and she made it clear that she doesn’t regret starring in it at all.

“I’m happy to be here, happy to be nominated [for a Golden Globe], and I had a really great time working on that weird-a** movie,” the 30-year-old blonde beauty told Variety. “I’m not gonna retroactively decide that it wasn’t the best experience. I never would have met Andrew Lloyd Webber or gotten to see how he works, and now he’s my buddy. I got to work with the sickest dancers and performers. No complaints.”

As fans know, the “Look What You Made Me Do” songstress played Bombalurina — the extremely flirtatious cat that loves to be the center of attention — in the the movie adaptation of the classic Broadway play. She also teamed up with Andrew (who wrote the musical!) for a brand new song called “Beautiful Ghosts,” which was featured in the flick and got nominated for a Golden Globe.

After its release, the film, which also starred James Corden, Rebel Wilson, Idris Elba, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson and more, received a lot of bad reviews from critics and its viewers. It came under fire for the multiple visual mistakes made throughout the two-hour movie — the most obvious being a moment in the flick when actress Judi Dench‘s hand could be seen instead of what should be her character’s paw.

Oops! Days after it came out, Universal Studios announced that they were going to re-release the movie with “improved visual effects.” Director Tom Hooper even revealed to Variety that he had only finished editing the movie the day before it came out.

As fans know, this wasn’t the first movie that Taylor starred in. She also appeared in The Lorax, The Giver and Valentine’s Day!
