Prepare yourselves, people, because you’re about to see Jacob Elordi like you’ve never seen him before. That’s right, the Euphoria star is taking his acting skills to the next level for the upcoming romance movie 2 Hearts, and we can’t wait to see it!
On Monday, June 15, fans got a first look at the Australian heartthrob’s new role — Chris, a college student who quickly falls in love with one of his classmates before discovering that he suffers from a rare illness. But that’s not all! The 22-year-old’s character and his girlfriend’s love story gets mysteriously connected with another couple from an entirely different decade, and time period. From the looks of it, this flick is going to be a major tearjerker.
“I believe that connections are everywhere,” Jacob’s character said, while narrating the debut trailer. “The kindness of a stranger, the first heartbeat of a baby, the love of your family, and I believe each one of us has a purpose, even if we can’t see it.”
Based off the true story of Leslie and Jorge Bacardi and Christopher Gregory, the movie also stars Tiera Skovbye, — who fans may recognize from her role as Polly Cooper on Riverdale — Adan Canto and Radha Mitchell. According to Deadline, the film’s director, Lance Hool, dished on 2 Hearts and called it “the movie medicine we all need right now.”
“When my brother and I met the real Jorge and Leslie and heard their amazing story, I was awestruck. Their love and their journey touched me deeply and I had to share this story because this is fundamentally about connection, love and destiny,” Lance said about his inspiration to make the film.
Yep, this is one movie we’re not going to want to miss! So, mark your calendars because 2 Hearts will be released on September 11, 2020.
