Sunday, November 10 will forever be known as the day that Vanessa Hudgens broke the Internet! The 30-year-old had fans totally shook when she took to Instagram and posted a video of herself singing the hit High School Musical song, “Breaking Free.” Gabriella Montez was back and better than ever, proving that once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.

“Um. Here’s a really bad, aggressive, and totally sober version of Breaking Free,” she captioned the video. “Yep. That happened lol it hurts my ears but also makes me laugh lol. The ‘ooo yeah.’ Dear lord lol.”

After watching Vanessa belt out this tune, an original cast reunion definitely needs to happen soon.

The Princess Switch actress’ video comes just days before High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premieres on Disney+. Don’t worry HSM fans, all your “Stick To The Status Quo” needs will be met on Tuesday, November 12 once the series starts streaming. For those who missed it, Sofia Wylie, Joshua BassettOlivia Rodrigo, Kate Reinders, Matt Cornett, Dara Reneé, Julia Lester, Frankie A. Rodriguez, Larry Saperstei, and Mark St. Cyr teamed up to star in the new Disney+ series which pays homage to the original movie franchise.

Instead of remaking the iconic movies, the show is set to follow a whole new group of East High students as they prepare for their school’s production of High School Musical. The series takes place 15 years after the original three films and will include a combination of both old and new songs. As of right now, none of the original stars are set to make an appearance, but there’s always next season.

The show’s creator, Tim Federleexplained, “We poke fun at the original franchise, but we never really make fun of it. We love High School Musical, and we think there’s a new way to celebrate it with these new characters.”
