Congratulations are in order for Zayn Malik because the former One Direction member has officially become an uncle. Yep, his 17-year-old younger sister, Safaa Malik, just welcomed a beautiful baby girl, and fans could not be more excited for them!
The Instagram star and her husband, Martin Tiser, shared the exciting news via social media on Friday, January 4. They posted a snap of the newborn, which they named Zaneyah, with an emoji covering her face.
How cute is that?! The couple first announced that they were expecting a child together back in October 2019, when Safaa shared a photo of herself wearing a sash around her neck which read, “It’s a baby girl.”
The brunette beauty and her boyfriend got married on September 16, 2019. Zayn’s dad, Yaser, mom, Trisha, and his two other sisters, Doniya and Waliyha, all attended the ceremony, but the singer was M.I.A. His ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid showed support for the couple at the time, when she liked some of their wedding photos on Instagram.
It turns out, the 26-year-old “Pillowtalk” crooner isn’t the first 1D member to become an uncle. Niall Horan‘s older brother, Greg, and his wife, Denise, welcomed a baby boy named Theo back in July 2013.
As for the other guys, Louis Tomlinson may not be an uncle just yet, but he is a father! He became a dad in January 2016, when his ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth gave birth to a baby boy named Freddie Reign. Now, the toddler is almost 4 years old, and he looks just like his daddy!
Liam Payne welcomed a son of his own, named Bear, with his ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole in March 2017.
“I’m incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it’s a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favorite memory I have so far,” the “Strip That Down” singer wrote right after Bear was born. “I’m completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she’s really made my dreams come true. We haven’t named him yet but he’s already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed.”
