Congratulations Zayn Malik — the former One Direction member is about to become an uncle! Yep, the singer’s 17-year-old sister, Safaa, just announced that she’s pregnant with her first child, just one month after she tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Martin Tiser.
Safaa shared the exciting news via Instagram on October 29, 2019, and get this — she’s expecting a baby girl! The Instagram star posted a snap of herself wearing a sash around her neck which read, “It’s a baby girl.” How exciting is that?!
The 17-year-old showed off her growing baby bump in the photos, as she celebrated the exciting announcement with her close friends and family.
There was no sign of the “Pillowtalk” crooner at the party. As fans know, Safaa and her boyfriend got married on September 16, 2019. Zayn’s dad, Yaser, mom, Trisha, and his two other sisters, Doniya and Waliyha, all attended the ceremony, but the 26-year-old star was M.I.A. His ex-girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, showed support for the couple at the time, when she liked some of their wedding photos on Instagram.
It turns out, Zayn isn’t the first 1D member to become an uncle! Niall Horan‘s older brother, Greg, and his wife, Denise, welcomed a baby boy named Theo back in July 2013.
As for the other guys, Louis Tomlinson may not be an uncle just yet, but he is a father! He welcomed a son, named Freddie Reign, with his ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth back in January 2016. Now, the toddler is almost 4 years old, and he looks just like his daddy!
Liam Payne‘s ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole gave birth to his son, Bear, in March 2017.
“I’m incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it’s a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favorite memory I have so far,” the “Strip That Down” singer wrote right after Bear was born. “I’m completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she’s really made my dreams come true. We haven’t named him yet but he’s already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed.”
