We are so relieved that Gavin Leatherwood is OK! The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star just recounted a horrifying time that he was mugged while on a train in New York City, and boy, does it sound scary.

It turns out, the 25-year-old lived in NYC before landing his role on the Netflix show, and when he accidentally fell asleep on the subway, the terrifying incident occurred.

“I was mugged on a train. I was asleep and someone went in my jackets and stole my wallet and phone and money, which was for my rent,” the actor told Geordie Kieffer in a recent YouTube video. “I never will [sleep on a train] again. That was a lesson learned, don’t fall asleep on a train.”

As fans know, he’s unfortunately not the only star who has been mugged. Harry Styles recently revealed that he was robbed at knifepoint on February 14, 2020, after a night out with friends.

“I was walking home from a friends house, I was about five minutes from home. I’m walking up and I kind of see this group of guys and they all got their hoods up, and their face is covered and stuff. And I think, ‘Oh thats a bit weird,’” the One Direction singer said. “I hear shuffling of feet and they catch up to me. So I cross the street and they cross the street. And I’m like, ‘Oh f**ks sake.’ Then I cross the street again and they cross the street again and I think I’m about to get robbed. So the guys are like, ‘Hey can I talk to you for a minute?’ And there is no one around. So I’m like, ‘Sure.’ … Then [one of the guys] goes, ‘What have you got on you?’ And they all kind of gathered around me.”

“I said, ‘I don’t have anything.’ And they say, ‘Stop f**king around.’ I have some cash in my pocket, and he takes it. And then I had my headphone jack just sticking into my pocket, and he goes, ‘What’s that plugged into?’ And I go, ‘For f**ks sake it’s my phone,'” he continued. “The guy is like, ‘OK, unlock your phone.’ And the other one pulls up his shirt and he’s got like a knife sticking in his pants. I just said, ‘Mate I can’t unlock my phone.’ And then the guy is like, ‘You’ve got ten second to unlock your phone,’ and he starts counting down. And I’m like, ‘F**k am I going to unlock my phone?’ I try to give him my phone, and he’s like, ‘No I’m going to need you to unlock it.’ And I’m like, ‘I can’t.’ I thought, ‘There’s a pond behind me where I live,’ and I thought about throwing it in the pond to just be like, ‘Neither of us have it.’ But then I thought, ‘I didn’t want to piss him off.’”

But when the 26-year-old “Sign of the Times” crooner saw some cars coming, he saw it as an opportunity to get away safely.

“I just sprinted and ran. I ran into the road and I tried to stop a car,” he said. “Obviously a mad men in the middle of the road try to get in your car, they’re not going to let me in. So they don’t let me in. I tried to get in another car, they don’t let me in. But now I’m slightly away from them because I’m in the street. And I just turned and ran towards the village where I live. I just kind of sprinted … I guess because they had some cash and stuff they ended up just turning around.”
