Another day, another fresh batch of fan theories about Ariana Grande‘s upcoming album!
As we all know by now, the 25-year-old pop star will drop a new album titled Thank U, Next on February 8, and from the names of the songs, it seems like she’s going be spilling some major tea about her personal life, and yes, her failed relationships. See?

With song titles like “Ghostin,” “Bad Idea,” and “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored,” it’s clear that Ari won’t be holding back. And while there are many fan theories regarding who and what each song is about, there are a some tracks that definitely seem to hint at her exes. Allow us to explain.
At first glance, you might not think anything of the track called “NASA.” The “7 Rings” crooner didn’t say much about the song, but she did say it’s “kind of” about outer space. Of course, this had fans wondering what else the track could be about, and all signs are pointing to her ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson.
In 2018, the formerly engaged couple attended the MTV Video Music Awards together. What you probably don’t remember about that night, however, is that the Saturday Night Live comedian was wearing a Sweetener sweatshirt with a NASA patch on it. Obviously, this seems like a fairly big sign that the song is about Pete, but not everyone’s convinced.
When one fan tweeted their doubts that the song is about one of Ari’s exes, she pretty much confirmed it herself by saying, “Well it is so we should probably shut up lmao.”

Don’t worry, though! The song isn’t just about Pete’s shirt. According to Victoria Monét, it’s actually about way more than that.
The former Nickelodeon star said, “Yo I promise we did not write a whole song about this mans shirt … promise. it’s just a universally common word.”
Another song fans have been buzzing about ever since the track list dropped is “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored.” Immediately, social media blew up with theories about who the song could possibly be about, and it through the process of elimination, it seems like it could definitely be about her ex-BF Big Sean.
If you were to look up all of Ari’s exes, you’d see that most of them are single, meaning there would be no one to break up with. Alas, that leaves Big Sean and Jai Brooks as possible contenders. If we’re being really real, though, Ariana’s only gotten more famous while The Janoskians sort of faded into the abyss, so the odds that it’s about the 30-year-old rapper are pretty high if you ask us — especially since he was dating Jhené Aiko.
Again, these are just theories at this point, but we have to admit they’re pretty plausible. Guess we’ll just have to wait until February 8 for more answers!
