Former Bridge To Terabithia star Bailee Madison just brought on some major nostalgia. That’s right, the actress recently took to Instagram and encouraged her 2.9 million followers to partake in social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic, by sharing a throwback snap from the 2007 film featuring her and her onscreen brother Josh Hutcherson.
“Be like May Belle and Jess… #socialdistance,” she captioned the adorable pic, tagging the Hunger Games actor.
For those who missed it, the World Health Organization has reported that over 1,300,000 people have contracted virus so far, resulting in more than 72,000 deaths. Medical professionals have called for “social distancing” to prevent further spreading of the illness, which is defined as “trying to keep yourself away from other people, especially large crowds.” Because of this many events, concerts and festivals have been canceled, including all Broadway plays and sports games. People have been asked to avoid public spaces and quarantine themselves during this time.
In order to entertain her fans while they’ve been stuck inside, the Wizards of Waverly Place alum also kicked off her Instagram Live series, “#SelfIsolateWithB.” Each day, the actress hosts a livestream via social media and invites one of her celebrity friends on the show. Previously, Bailee has had stars like Meg Donnelly, Katie Stevens, Peyton List, Blake Richardson and more on various episodes so she could keep fans company during this time.
As fans know, Bailee isn’t the only one using her platform for good. Miley Cyrus has also kicked off her own Instagram Live series called “Bright Minded.” She — just like Bailee — has discussed “staying bright minded in dark times” to bring “hope and escapism” to their millions of fans and followers. For those who missed any episodes, not to worry, because past “Bright Minded” and “#SelfIsolateWithB” episodes are saved on the girls’ IGTV pages!
