Roughly three and a half years after the death of her puppy, Demi Lovato is paying tribute to him in the best way. And by that, we mean she got a new tattoo.
That’s right, you guys! The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer took to Instagram on January 31 to share a photo of her new ink, which is a portrait on her ankle of her late dog Buddy. Underneath the portrait, there’s writing that spells out, “Buddy was here.” So cute!
Along with the photo, the former Disney Channel star wrote, “Thank you @_dr_woo_ for the incredible portrait of my late baby angel Buddy.. RIP @demisbuddy I will love you forever and never forget you.”
For those of you who don’t remember, Buddy was the pup the “Tell Me You Love Me” crooner shared with her then-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama. The maltipoo passed away in July 2015 after being attacked by a coyote.
The Sonny With a Chance star announced the news to fans via Twitter, saying, “We are absolutely heartbroken to be writing this but Wilmer and I are devastated to inform you that we lost our little angel Buddy last Sunday. He was taken from us way too soon in a tragic accident and though I will never know why this had to happen, I do know that God only puts us through situations that we can handle … Buddy was loved by so many people and as small as he was, he made a huge impact in our lives. He truly was human in a way and we were so blessed to have him in our lives.”
Demi’s new ink is just one of two tattoos she’s gotten recently. The Camp Rock actress took to Instagram on January 26 to share a photo of a rose tattoo that she got on her finger. While she didn’t speak out about the meaning of the tattoo, fans believe she got it in honor being six months sober. NGL, we love all these meaningful tattoos she’s been getting, and we’re so glad she’s doing well.
