Buckle up, Gossip Girl fans! We’ve all been wondering if a revival is in the future, right? Well, as it turns out, leading lady Leighton Meester isn’t against the idea. And whether or not she returns for a reboot might actually come down to her husband, Adam Brody.

The 33-year-old actress was asked in a recent interview if she would be down to reprise her role as Blair Waldorf. After all, there can’t be a reboot of the CW series without the headband-wearing, early 2000s fashion icon.

“No one’s ever asked me,” she told E! News. “No one’s ever talked to me about it except for in interviews and I always say the same: I never say never, so I don’t know. No one’s sent me that information — it’s coming from you.”

The O.C. star, 39, then chimed in, “They should send it to me, I’ll look it over and I’ll decide.”

Leighton isn’t the only one that’s keeping her options open. Her former costar Blake Lively also said that it would all depend on timing.

“It sort of all depends,” the 31-year-old actress said in an interview with Variety in April 2017. “Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it’s hard work and I’ve got my babies, and I don’t want to be away from them that much. But I’ve just learned in life you never say never.”

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants alum added, “Im looking to do something that I haven’t done yet, not something that I did. But would I do that? Who knows — if it was good, if it made sense. We had so much fun shooting and living and working in New York City.”

So could this whole idea of a revival become a reality? Well, back in January 2019, TVLine reported that CW President Mark Pedowitz confirmed at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that there’s a possibility.

“There’s a discussion, but I don’t know if we’re there yet,” he said. “I don’t know what it would be.”

Here’s to hoping!
