Get ready to bring on all the nostalgia, you guys, because Blake Lively recently posted her own version of the hilarious Gossip Girl meme that’s been going viral recently.
For those who missed it, this meme, called the “Gossip Girl Title Remixes,” uses two stills from the show — one of Blair and one of Serena, talking to each other. In the first photo, Serena asks her on-screen BFF a question and in the second image, Blair responds using a slightly altered version of the show’s title. Well, after a few days of circling the internet, it finally reached the show’s star. On Wednesday, April 15, Blake took to her own Instagram Stories and, to fans’ surprise, joined in on the viral trend!
Not only did the 32-year-old make her own version of the picture, but she made it a total PSA for how her followers can stay safe during the current coronavirus pandemic. In the first box, Serena asked: “What should I wear to the supermarket?” To which Blair replied, “Gloves girl,” in the classic Gossip Girl title font.
For those who missed it, the World Health Organization has reported that over reported that over 2,100,000 people have contracted virus so far, resulting in more than 130,000 deaths. Medical professionals have called for “social distancing” to prevent further spreading of the illness, which is defined as “trying to keep yourself away from other people, especially large crowds.” Because of this many events, concerts and festivals have been canceled, including all Broadway plays and sports games. People have been asked to avoid public spaces and quarantine themselves during this time, but if they must go out in public, they’re asked to wear masks and gloves to ensure that the virus doesn’t spread — a message shared by Blake in a totally unique way.
As of right now, the blonde beauty is the only OG star to have weighed in on the meme, but here’s to hoping that Penn Badgley or Leighton Meester comes up with their own spin on it!
