Just days after the cast of Riverdale confirmed that they were back on set, Lili Reinhart opened up about the precautions they’re taking amid the coronavirus pandemic, and she said she feels like a “prisoner” because of them.

“I genuinely feel like a prisoner, going back to work, because I cannot leave Canada. That doesn’t feel good. You can’t go home for Thanksgiving, can’t visit your family. No one can come visit you unless they quarantine for two weeks. It just feels f**ked,” she explained during a recent interview with Nylon. ”I’m very lucky, but it’s like, ‘I need to keep going. I need to keep going.'”

Previously, the actress told Access on August 20, 2020, “We’re actually going back this weekend, to Vancouver, to start Season 5. We are heading back, and the gang will be together in a couple short weeks, after we quarantine. Basically, we have to quarantine once we’re in Canada and make sure we’re all COVID free before we can get back on set. So very soon we’ll be reunited… I think we’re very excited to, um, I haven’t seen everyone all together in five months, so it’ll be really nice.”

Vanessa Morgan also revealed via her Instagram Stories that the entire cast and crew are being tested for the coronavirus three times a week throughout production.

As fans know, filming of the CW show was shut down back in March due to the outbreak. Because of this, three episodes from Season 4 were left out and it was forced to end early — after it’s 19th episode. But not to worry, people, because according to one of the show’s writers, fans will still get to see those episodes that were left out of Season 4! Instead, they’ll appear in the fifth season!

“The pandemic derailed production and there was a heavy Toni [episode] coming up. We’ll still do it, but you’ll have to now wait for Season 5 instead of Season 4. Season 4 is unfortunately now shorter, ending [with episode 19] But it has a fun cliffhanger!” Ted Sullivan wrote in response to a fan who asked about the future of the show.

And for those of you wondering what happened to the prom episode that the cast had been teasing during the fourth season, you can breathe a sigh of relief because Lili explained that it will definitely appear in the fifth season.

“We stopped during the prom episode, so I have to fit back in that prom dress. Five months later, we’re all going to be tan, maybe a little bit thicker. I certainly am,” she revealed.

There’s unfortunately no release date for Season 5 just yet, but according to TVLine, it won’t premiere until 2021. We can’t wait!
