The rumors are true, Lindsay Lohan is officially back and better than ever! Yep, that’s right, after a 12 year hiatus, the songstress made her return to music with a brand new single on Friday, April 3.

Rumors started swirling that the Freaky Friday star was dropping new tunes on Wednesday, April 1, when she took to social media and teased a major announcement alongside the caption, “I’m back.” Well, now it’s been confirmed and she, indeed, has kicked off a sure-to-be epic comeback. For those who missed it, the new song is called “Back To Me,” and it’s all about how she experienced some dark times while growing up in the public eye.

“My life is full of ripped up pages / I’ve been weak, contagious / But I’m coming back, I’m coming back to me / Oh, but I know that everything changes,” the lyrics read.

The 33-year-old also took to Instagram to announce the song and even posted a short clip.

“The song is about rediscovering and accepting oneself, shutting out the noise and moving forward and letting the past go,” she wrote.

As fans know, prior to this track, the former Disney Channel actress had released two full-length albums in the past. Her debut record, called Speak, dropped in 2004 and featured hits like “Rumors.” A little over a year later, in 2005, she released A Little More Personal (Raw), featuring tracks like “A Little More Personal.”

In January 2020, she hinted at new music during an interview with Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.

“I’m managing my sister, so I want to really focus on me and everything that I can do in my life and come back to America and start filming again, which I’m doing something soon in this new year,” Lindsay said at the time. “And, you know, just taking back the life I’ve worked so hard for and sharing it with my family and you guys.”

The starlet has also told fans that her third album is coming soon.
