Let’s be real: It’s always super awkward whenever you run into an ex, but when you’re Miley Cyrus, it’s even worse because, whether she likes it or not, there are still fans who ship her with Nick Jonas. Well, prepare yourselves, Niley shippers, because what happened at the Isn’t It Romantic? movie premiere was cringe-worthy at best.
As the 26-year-old “Malibu” singer was walking the red carpet, an Access reporter showed her an old photo of her with the Jonas Brother from back when they were dating, and TBH, it was a little uncomfortable. We mean, the Hannah Montana star and the “Jealous” singer both recently got married to other people, so why dig up old bones?
Luckily, MiCy was a great sport about it, and she even cracked a joke about the whole thing. See?
For those of you who don’t know, the pop star attended the event in place of her hubby, Liam Hemsworth, who stars in the flick alongside Nick’s wife, Priyanka Chopra. Funny how that worked out, isn’t it? Miley certainly thinks so!
“We played the celebrity wife swap,” the “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” crooner joked. “But it was real life.” LOL.
Other than that, she didn’t seem too pleased to be chatting about Nick, but can we really blame her? Who wants to talk about their ex while they’re busy promoting their husband’s new movie?
Plus, a source told Us Weekly that the exes didn’t even interact at all on the carpet, which just makes the whole ordeal even more cringey.
“Miley didn’t cross paths with Nick or Priyanka all night,” the insider said. “She was off the carpet completely by the time they arrived, so there was no way she would have seen him.”
Hopefully things aren’t too weird between Miley and Nick, because even though they’ve both moved on with their lives, we think we can all agree that Niley is still a very sensitive subject. Now, excuse us as we look back at old pics of their relationship and cry.
