Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus are a couple of the past that will always live on in our our hearts. We’re all well aware that Nick just tied the knot with his wife Priyanka Chopra, and Miley said “I Do” to her longtime bae Liam Hemsworth. But the former lovebirds were a staple in the iconic 2008 Disney Channel era – with the other two Jo Bros, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato completing their squad. It was legit like high school for them, and Niley was the most popular couple. Although, Jemi stans might disagree… but we digress.
Now, in a resurfaced Seventeen interview from 2008, the Hannah Montana star admits she thought she might even marry the Camp Rock cutie.
“Maybe he’ll be my best friend for the rest of my life or maybe I’ll end up marrying Nick Jonas!” she said in the interview.
OK, not gonna lie. It kind of destroys our hearts knowing they’re not actual friends these days. But hey, maybe one day they’ll hang out as buds.
“Nick and I loved each other,” the Disney Channel alum admitted back then. “We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. But it was really hard to keep it from people. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn’t fun.”
Back in January 2018, the “Jealous” singer actually admitted that Miley’s “7 Things” was about him.
“I’ve heard that rumor,” he said. “Never directly [heard it from her], but she’s wearing a dog tag in [the music video] that I gave her when I was 14 or something. I was actually kind of flattered, to be honest. It’s there forever, and I know it’s about me.”
But the 26-year-old star forgot to mention the photo of himself that Miley put tape over in the video. So yeah, that gave it away a long time ago.
Here’s to hoping for a friendly Niley reunion one day.
