While their friendship may have hit some rocky points over the years, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato probably understand each other better than anyone. We mean, the former Disney Channel stars had very similar come ups. From their start on Barney & Friends to developing into full-blown pop icons, their careers have undoubtedly followed a similar trajectory. Now, both are preparing to make their comebacks after what was an extremely rough year, and it seems as though they have each other’s support.

Yup! Now that the two have both returned from rehab (albeit, for different reasons), they’re both looking forward to releasing new music. And although it might seem like they’re each other’s biggest competition, an insider revealed to Life & Style that they couldn’t be more proud and supportive of one another. Aww!

“Selena and Demi are determined to stay on the straight and narrow and are supporting each other as they prepare to make their comebacks,” the source revealed.

But wait, there’s more. The insider also said they’ve made a deal to keep each other in check — especially since they’re both extremely committed to their music and staying healthy.

“Thanks to intense therapy they’re in a much better place and well enough to focus on their music,” the source added. “They’ve made a pact not to let the pressure of fame lead to self-destruction, and regularly text or call each other to check-in.” How sweet is that?!

NGL, we’re so happy they’re so committed to staying on a good path — especially after the trying year they’ve both had. Back in July, the Camp Rock actress was hospitalized following a scary overdose. Then, the Wizards of Waverly Place star was hospitalized in October due to her struggles with mental health. Considering all they’ve gone through, it totally makes sense that they would lean on each other during this time, and we’re kind of living for their friendship.

“They find comfort in knowing that they’re not alone and are beyond excited about entering into a new chapter in their lives as they continue to conquer their demons together,” the insider said. “They’ve used all their experiences, both good and bad, to make new chart topping music and can’t wait for the world to hear their new albums.”

We don’t know about you, but we certainly cannot wait to listen!
