Did anyone else let out a scream when they got that Instagram notification that said “Selena Gomez posted a photo?” We know we sure did — especially because it’s been almost four months since the singer posted on the social media app! That’s right guys, Selena is back and she’s better than ever.

Not only has the 26-year-old returned to social media after months of silence, but she’s also finally ready to speak out about her recent struggles — and we couldn’t be more proud of her. As J-14 readers know, Selena decided to check herself into a rehab facility last October, and she wants the world to know that she’s ready to leave it all in 2018 and have an amazing year.

“It’s been awhile since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy New Year and to thank you for your love and support,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019. “Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth. It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming. Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all.”

Yes girl! It was reported back in October that the “Bad Liar” singer was taking some time away from the spotlight to focus on her mental health after she suffered from severe panic attacks. But after being MIA for two months, Selena was snapped on a ski trip with her friends (including her Wizards Of Waverly Place co-star Bailee Madison, and we’re still screaming over their reunion!) last month, and she looked happier than ever. And since then, she’s been spotted hiking and hanging with her friends in Los Angeles, but this is the first time she’s publicly spoken since her return. We’re honestly so happy to know that she feels strong enough to do so, and we cannot wait to see what 2019 brings for her.
