Shawn Mendes just dropped his music video for the Zedd remix of his song, “Lost in Japan,” where he channels the 2003 film, Lost in Translation. None other than 13 Reasons Why actress Alisha Boe played the 20-year-old singer’s love interest, and their on-screen romance is one that seriously makes our hearts flutter.
In case you’re not familiar with the OG movie, it’s a romantic comedy starring Bill Murray as movie star Bob Harris and Scarlett Johansson as a college graduate named Charlotte. The two keep running into each other in a Tokyo hotel – and finally, they befriend each other in the hotel bar one night. Bob has been in a 25-year marriage, while Charlotte is unsure about her future with her husband. The two share intimate conversations about their lives, share a kiss on their last day in Japan, and eventually part ways. A love story for the books. And we must say, Shawn and Alisha’s version is quite adorable too.
