If you just so happened to click on Tana Mongeau‘s Instagram Stories on Jan. 8, you probably noticed that she and Bella Thorne have decided to take their relationship to the next level — or, at least that’s what it seems like.
The YouTuber posted a photo of what appeared to be a diamond ring spelling out the F-word, and while we typically wouldn’t think anything of it, the caption certainly raised more than a few eyebrows.
Along with the photo, the 20-year-old wrote, “@bellathorne proposed,” and adding, “I said yes.”
Of course, it didn’t take long for fans and skeptics to share their opinions of the proposal on Twitter, and while many people are super stoked for the duo, others are having a hard hard time believing the proposal is real at all since they’re both dating other people as well.
Since Tana posted the photo to her story, neither she nor Bella have confirmed their engagement, but still, there’s no reason for us to believe that it’s fake. We mean, the two haven’t been shy about sharing their love for one another on social media at all, and from the looks of it, it seems like they’re in a very happy and open relationship.
What we are a bit confused about, however, is that the proposal comes on the heels of a video the YouTube star posted just last week, saying she wasn’t going to marry the Midnight Sun actress and her BF Mod Sun.
“I’m not gonna go and marry Bella and Mod,” the “Hefner” singer said. “For the rest of our lives, things could be like this, like when I see her and she sees me, we pick up where we left off. There really isn’t a break-up. Even if she got another girlfriend, I still think when I saw her, things would be the exact same.”
The influencer also explained that when she first started dating the 21-year-old, she thought there would definitely be tension between her and Bella’s other bae. Now, she considers them to be good friends, and outside of her relationship with Bella, Tana’s happily dating a man named Brad Sousa.
If you’re a bit confused by their open relationship, you’re not alone — and the internet personality knows that people just can’t seem to wrap their heads around it.
In the video posted last week, she said, “That confused the entire world. No one could fathom that for even a second… Being in that relationship taught me so much about myself and polyamory and openness and how closed-minded the world can be.”
So, are Tana and Bella engaged, like, for real? Unconfirmed. Are they ever going to get married? Well, according to the YouTuber’s recent vid, probably not. But, who knows? Maybe the proposal changed that!
