The film is based on the Young Adult novel of the same name and tells the story of Willowdean Dixon, who decides to enter a beauty pageant that’s run by her pageant-obsessed mom by her mom. The movie seriously gives you all the warm and fuzzies with its empowering message and there even happens to be an oh so swoonworthy love interest, Bo. Did he look super familiar to you? Well, he should! He’s played by Luke Benward, who has been a staple on Disney Channel for years.
