Some fans are not happy with the Dolan Twins after an old clip of them using seemingly homophobic language resurfaced online. Some people are attempting to “cancel” Ethan and Grayson Dolan, and they even got “#DolanTwinsAreOverParty” to trend on Twitter.
In an old YouTube video, the guys were discussing some bullying that they had been the victims of in high school. Grayson recounted some of the things people had posted about him online, and some of them included homophobic slurs.
Now, people took a clip of him saying the homophobic slurs and started to spread it around Twitter, which caused him to get a lot of backlash. They made it look like he was the one saying it, but in reality, he was just telling his viewers what others had said about him.
Naturally, after seeing so many people slam the YouTube stars, some fans took to social media to defend them. The boys have yet to publicly address the backlash.
“It was five years ago, and yes, Grayson should have never said it at all but he was quoting what was being said about them, not calling anyone that or using it to offend people,” one fan wrote. Another added, “They literally were quoting what they were called and they’re active supporters of the LGBTQ+ community. NEXT!”

As fans know, they’re not the only stars who have been “canceled” online recently. When alleged screenshots from Demi Lovato‘s rumored private Instagram account made their way around the web on April 17, 2020, and they contained a lot of shade towards Selena Gomez, some fans were not happy with the singer. The Finsta posts quickly went viral, and people even got “#DemiLovatoIsOverParty” to trend on Twitter.
“I’ve been canceled so many times that I can’t even count,” the 27-year-old explained to Jameela Jamil on her “I Weigh” podcast when asked about the drama. “The hashtag, ‘#DemiIsOverParty,’ that whole thing it’s just, like, it doesn’t even affect me anymore. It’s not real, I don’t think that anybody was ever officially canceled, otherwise certain people wouldn’t have Grammys today, certain people wouldn’t have Oscars and certain people wouldn’t be where they are in their positions.”
