Almost 20 years after the first Harry Potter movie came out, the cast is still just as close! Yep, Daniel Radcliffe just revealed that he’s “absolutely” still in contact with his former costars, and our hearts are seriously bursting.
“Absolutely,” the actor said when asked if he still talks to Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who recently welcomed his first baby. “We’re not as close as we once were but I texted Rupert because of his baby.”
“I mean that is still wild to me that we are now at the stage were we are having kids and I’m sure that is a fact that makes the rest of the world feel very old,” the former wizard added. “I’m genuinely just so happy for him. He is going to be an awesome dad.”
Previously, the 30-year-old admitted it was “super weird” that his costar is now a father.
“I texted him the other day and said I was so happy for him and it’s very very cool,” Daniel said during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “It’s also like super weird for me to think that we are all at the age where we are all having children, but we definitely are.”
As fans know, the two stars stepped into the spotlight when they were only 11 years old, and since they were a huge part of a lot of people’s childhoods, the fact that they’re all grown up and welcoming kids of their own now is definitely making us all feel old!
“I remember when I turned 30 I remember a lot of people in my life were really depressed to find out that they’re lapped,” the British star joked.
For those who missed it, Rupert and his girlfriend, Georgia Groome, announced that they had welcomed their first child together on May 7, 2020, and fans couldn’t be happier for them.
“Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl,” his rep told People Magazine in a statement. “We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time.”
The 31-year-old and the Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging alum first started dating all the way back in 2011, and they’ve been couple goals ever since!
