According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the YouTuber filed the papers on June 11, 2019. ICYMI, David practically shook the entire internet when he uploaded a video to his YouTube channel on May 18, 2019, called “I MARRIED MY BEST FRIENDS MOM!! (PROPOSAL).”
And although we all thought it was a joke at first, their wedding was very much real. But why did he marry his best friend’s mom, you ask? No, it wasn’t because they were madly in love. Based off the video, it seemed like the social media star eloped because he wanted to prove a point.
In the beginning of the vlog, Jason made a comment to David that he’d definitely learn to regret.
“It’s crazy to think that you’ll never have an ex-wife because no one will f–king marry you ever,” he joked.
And naturally, David just had to prove him wrong. So the 22-year-old legit got on a flight to Boston and proposed to Jason’s mom. At first, Lorraine was pretty confused, but after David explained that he wanted to marry her so that he could become his bestie’s step-dad, she agreed that it would be totally hilarious.
After that, the two headed to Las Vegas to officially tie the knot. We honestly didn’t think that they were seriously going to go through with it, but they did! The vlog captured the two exchanging vows, signing their actual marriage license and even sharing in a steamy kiss.
“My friend told me I would never find love and get married,” the Vlog Squad member tweeted after the video came out. “So I flew to his moms house and married her on the spot. Now that same friend is my step-son. True love always wins.”

We guess Lorraine wasn’t his true love after all.
