Brace yourselves, Sister Squad fans. Emma Chamberlain is apparently doing a social media cleanse, and she’s truly done the unthinkable. That’s right! The 17-year-old unfollowed all of her fellow Sister Squad members on Instagram, which means Ethan Dolan, Grayson Dolan and James Charles are no longer on her Insta radar. Say whaaat?!
OK, before you totally freak out, you should know that the Dolan Twins and the beauty guru are only some of the accounts that Emma unfollowed. In fact, she currently only follows a total of 17 people on the social media platform, and they’re all fan accounts. Still, she wants her followers to know that there’s no Sister Squad drama happening at the moment, and she also wants them to know that, no, she hasn’t been hacked.
After explaining to fans via Instagram Stories that she did, in fact, unfollow her friends herself, she said, “A lot of people are concerned that I unfollowed my friends. Don’t worry. I still love every single one of my friends with my whole heart. There’s nothing — we’re good. With all of them. And that’s a genuine promise. … I’m just kind of doing a little social experiment for myself to see what it’s like to just only have my thoughts and not anything else.”
The social media star then posted this image, recapping the fact that there’s no drama and that she’s simply doing a cleanse.
Regardless, fans are still extremely concerned that there might be some beef happening within the squad.
One fan tweeted, “okay but i genuinely wanna know if there’s a specific reason as to why emma unfollowed everyone i’m kinda confused. Uh, same.
Clearly, fans are super upset that the YouTuber went as far as unfollowing her BFFs and her rumored boyfriend on Instagram, but for now, we’re just going to have to take her word for it that it’s simply a social experiment. Don’t worry, though. We’ll be keeping our eyes glued to her Instagram. After all, we’re nothing without the Sister Squad, and we won’t rest until she follows them back.
