It’s safe to say the Fifth Harmony ladies have had their fair share of relationships. Since their rise to fame back in 2012, Camila Cabello, Dinah Jane, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei have been linked to some pretty famous faces over the years, and fans have kept close tabs on their love lives. From one-time flings to long-term boyfriends and everything in between, it’s finally time to break down each and every relationship these songstresses have ever had.
From global superstar Shawn Mendes to rapper Ty Dolla $ign and a bunch of others in between, this five-piece girl group has often been known to share their relationship status (and some seriously adorable pics) on social media. While most of the girls have kept things with their lovers under wraps, some relationships — like Shawnmila — are more prevalent in the public eye.
“I’ve learned a lot about love with this guy,” Camila shared via Instagram in November 2020, alongside a picture of her and Shawn sharing a kiss. “It’s not just the happy blissful moments you see in pictures and videos — When you’re in a relationship with someone, it feels like they are this mirror reflecting yourself back to you — I constantly have to confront my fears, my anxieties, my insecurities, my patterns of thinking, my beliefs about life and about myself. It’s not as simple as it looks in pictures sometimes.”
The songstress continued, “Sometimes, it’s messy and uncomfortable and ugly lol. But there’s nothing like the pull, the FORCE that is love, to be the light in the darkness — to be the gravitational pull that gives you the relentless strength to be braver, wiser and better than you were yesterday. It’s so instinctive for us to love, even if our minds try to protect us from it sometimes, but our nature as humans is to love. And to be in love means to choose that person over and over again, to go through the messy stuff with. And that’s way more beautiful and raw and real than perfection. I’m all for being vulnerable on social media because I think only the neatness and perfection of life is shown on here; and that can make us all feel extra lonely and weird! So raise your glass to the messiness and weirdness of being human and the miracle. And the easiness. And the instinct. And the relentless force that is love.”
While Shawn and Camila were couple goals throughout their time together, the duo announced their split in a joint Instagram Stories post in November 2021.
“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” they shared at the time. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.”
