Disney Channel series Sydney to the Max might still be airing some brand new Season 2 episodes, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the fan-favorite show’s third season! That’s right, back in November 2019, the coming-of-age series was offically renewed for an upcoming third season, and the cast was super pumped.

As of right now, there’s no telling exactly what’s in store for all the characters once Season 3 hits the airwaves, but that doesn’t mean the star’s don’t have some ideas! Yep, J-14 recently caught up with one of the show’s stars, Jackson Dollinger, and he revealed what he hopes to see Young Max Reynolds do next — and yes, it involves music.

“I definitely had an idea,” the 13-year-old gushed. “Maybe a musical episode where Sydney and Olive could like join a band in the present day, and then Max and Leo — I could be playing the drums in the ’90s, something having to do with music. That’d be awesome.”

For those who don’t know, Jackson is also a super talented musician, so from his point of view, bringing music into Season 3 “sounds great.”

“Hey, I’m down for whatever,” the actor added.

Aside from the next Sydney To The Max season, Jackson also dished on what viewers can expect as new episodes continue to hit Disney Channel.

“Be prepared for some really heartfelt moments. Also some crazy clothes. We have some cool sets, some hilarious scenes and I can’t wait for you guys to see it,” he teased, before sharing what it’s been like to play Young Max — whose scenes take place during the ’90s. “Honestly, I’ve learned so much, it’s so fun to be on set. It’s sparks a lot of great conversations with the crew, and the parents talking about what their experiences were like in the ’90s.”

As someone who didn’t grow up in the time period where his scenes take place, Jackson often finds himself learning new things about the ’90s.

“I didn’t know how to use a payphone and the director basically had to tell me how to use it. To put quarter in and then dial and put it to your ear, ” he remembered.

When it came to his favorite episode, Jackson said it’s “definitely” one titled “Nightmare on Syd Street” where Ruth Righi‘s character, Sydney, headed to the ’90s in a dream sequence.

“[My character] and and Leo got to shoot with Sydney and Olive, which was super fun, because that would never happen,” he explained. “That was just a blast, I also got to do a skateboarding stunt — I do all my own stunts — that was super fun.”

Back in April, J-14 also caught up with Ruth who revealed that “Nightmare on Syd Street” was also her favorite episode! Hopefully, fans will get to see some more ’90s crossover episodes in Sydney To The Max Season 3.
