Beauty vlogger Jaclyn Hill has taken a social media break. On Tuesday, March 10, the YouTuber took to Twitter and got real with fans about why she hasn’t been uploading new videos lately. The 29-year-old revealed that she has been “absent on socials” after making the decision to focus on her “health” and make it her “number one priority.”

“This is extremely hard for me to talk about for many reasons… But I know a lot of people are wondering why I’m so absent on socials recently. I’ve decided to make health my number one priority,” she wrote. “I briefly opened up about it in my video but it’s very deep and I need help.”

“For the past couple of years I’ve completely neglected ME. I’ve focused on people around me and my career but I’ve totally let myself go in the meantime. I am working with an amazing team right now to detox my body and get myself back to where I need to be,” she continued in another tweet. “I know you guys want makeup tutorials and videos. So do I! But I am currently spending six to eight hours a day with doctors, IV’s and therapists because I am determined to get back to where I need to be. Please understand that I love you and can’t wait for our future.”

Before she signed off, Jaclyn told her followers that she needed to put herself first “before anything else” during this hard time in her life. The internet star also promised fans that she had plans to share this journey with them in the future.

As loyal Jaclyn followers know, her most recent social media break came just a few weeks after opened up in a 37-minute video about how she has struggled with anxiety since her June 2019 lipstick scandal. For those who missed it, Jaclyn came under fire after her lipstick line launched when fans found hairs, lumps and what appeared to be mold inside her products.

She admitted that after being slammed by YouTube’s beauty community, she turned to alcohol in order to cope with her worsening anxiety and her excessive drinking caused her to gain 20 pounds.

“At the end of the day, to cope with my anxiety and my depression, I turned to alcohol and started drinking to fix what I was feeling mentally,” she admitted. “On days where I would be so filled with anxiety and I would drink more than other days, I would wake up in the morning and my face would be so swollen and my eyes would be so puffy and I would just cry…I wouldn’t look like this if I didn’t make such poor decisions. I wouldn’t look like this if I didn’t hurt myself by self-medicating with alcohol.”
