YouTuber Jaclyn Hill has been under fire over the past week due to the state of her new lipstick line. After the launch, customers immediately started noticing that the beauty guru’s new Jaclyn Cosmetics lipsticks are hairy, bumpy and expired. Yep, you heard that correctly. Now, allow us to explain.

Social media users began uploading images of their seemingly lumpy, moldy and hairy lip products. One YouTuber, Raw Beauty Kristi, actually purchased a whole set and reviewed the product on her channel. She examined the products under a microscope — and it’s safe to say the fibers, lumps and alleged mold everyone seems to be finding are legit.

So what does Jaclyn have to say about all of this? As fans await answers, Jaclyn is promising her customers that the issues are being investigated.

“I plan on breaking my silence and addressing the issues regarding my lipsticks very soon. I have been working hard to gather all of the facts and details so I can give you accurate answers. I appreciate you allowing me time to wrap my head around all of this & investigate,” the 28-year-old tweeted on July 11.

When the scandal first broke and customers began revealing photos of the damaged lipsticks, the star took to Twitter to address the backlash and explain that she wasn’t aware of the condition of her products.

“My team and I are working very hard on finding out EXACTLY what is causing the ‘grittiness & bumpy texture’ on some of my lipsticks. I am so sorry to see some of you dissatisfied with my product. I will make it right for you & learn from this mistake! That’s a promise,” she explained in a series of tweets. “If any of you are receiving lipsticks like this…. please know that this is NOT hair! My factory used brand new white gloves to do quality control & they shed all over my product! We switched to rubber gloves 2 days ago & will make sure this never happens again.”

The star also apologized to an unhappy customer who she lashed out at before understanding the issues people were expressing.

“Also, I have apologized to the first girl who tweeted me about her lipstick not being perfect. I reacted very unprofessionally & that’s never my intention. I always want you guys to be comfortable sharing your concerns with me,” she wrote.

Despite the huge concerns people are having regarding her products, Jaclyn claimed on July 8 that her products aren’t dangerous to use.

“They are 100% safe & made in one of the best labs in the USA,” she replied to a fan complaint on Twitter.

Despite her claims, there have been multiple people who have tweeted detailed photos of reactions. Swollen lips, rashes, blisters and bacterial infections have all seemingly been reported by customers.

“[My doctor] said NOT to use the lipstick, to throw it away because its contaminated! I have to take this medication now,” one customer wrote on Twitter after sharing alarming images of a blister that formed on her lip after using Jaclyn’s lipstick.

In an official statement obtained by Fox News, a Jaclyn Cosmetics spokesperson said they believe “less than half of one percent of orders were impacted by compromised product.”

“We are actively reaching out to our customers with questions and concerns and have added to our customer service team to make sure that any questions are swiftly addressed,” they said. “We are keeping an eye on the Jaclyn Cosmetics social channels and info@jaclyncosmetics.com, and welcome all feedback. We love our customers and are proud of our successful launch.”

The product has not yet been recalled, and it’s safe to say fans are waiting for more answers.
