Some fans are not happy with Kendall Jenner and Justin Bieber after they discussed how privileged they were amid the growing coronavirus pandemic.

During an Instagram Live on Friday, April 10, the stars reflected on how fortunate they were to be isolating in their mansions during the outbreak.

“How blessed are we to be able to like — a lot of people obviously in this time have a crappy situation,” the “Love Yourself” crooner said after Kendall showed him her enormous new home. “You know, they look at us and obviously, we’ve worked hard for where we’re at, so it’s like, you can’t feel bad for the things we have.”

“I think about it all the time,” the supermodel responded, with Justin adding, “But I think, just us taking that time to acknowledge that there are people who are really crippling is important.”

Some critics were quick to slam the reality star and the singer for their comments, with one writing, “Thank God they’re ‘acknowledging’ us. SO GRATEFUL. Suddenly my debts are wiped clear and I’m no longer unemployed.”

“I’m sure all the newly unemployed are grateful to know Justin Bieber thought about them being poor,” another quipped.

“Justin Bieber’s career started because Usher came across him singing on YouTube. Kendall Jenner’s dad is an Olympian. Hailey Bieber‘s dad is a Hollywood star. Get the f**k out of here with being ‘blessed’ and ‘working hard,'” a third fan tweeted.

For those who missed it, the World Health Organization has reported that over 1,800,000 people have contracted the coronavirus so far resulting in more than 115,000 deaths. Medical professionals have called for “social distancing” to prevent further spreading of the illness, which is defined as “trying to keep yourself away from other people, especially large crowds.” Because of this many events, concerts, award shows, conventions and festivals have been canceled, including all Broadway plays and sports games. People are urged to stay indoors, avoid public places and isolate themselves during this time, which has led to a lot of people being unable to work and losing their jobs.
