The 21-year-old appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week, and despite being in a seemingly happy relationship with her BF Anthony De La Torre, the actress said the chemistry between her and Noah was so intense before filming the Netflix movie that they had to set boundaries — and lots of ’em.
Lana said, “We had just come back from a hot yoga class and we went to his apartment and we ordered pizza. It’s kind of like, ooh, hot yoga, pizza — what’s happening? It was right before we shot the movie, just getting to know each other, and I felt something. And so it went like this: I looked at him and I was like, ‘Noah, it’s not going to happen between us.'”
Wait a minute, did she just say what we think she said? For fans who continue to ship the on-screen couple despite the fact that she has a boyfriend, this offers a bit of hope. However, they did draw up contract similar to the one that Peter and Lara Jean made in the movie, just in case.
“I felt that for the show to do well, we had to be best friend professionals, so I was like, ‘It’s just not going to happen.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, it’s not going to happen,’ … so we kind of did what we did in the To All The Boys the movie. We kind of like made a contract and set boundaries, and I’m so happy we did that because the movie turned out great and now we’re doing a sequel.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time Lana has gushed over the heartthrob. In the past, she’s admitted to thinking he’s the “greatest guy ever,” and she also said that after watching the movie herself, she wanted Peter and Lara Jean to be together, too. Plus, she’s well aware that practically everyone ships them together, but this is the first time she’s actually admitted to ~real feelings~, which is a HUGE deal. We think we can speak for all of us when we say the sequel simply cannot come soon enough!
