We don’t know about you, but we’ve been freaking out over all the speculation that Miley Cyrus and Shawn Mendes are collaborating. Well, the two pop stars have finally confirmed that it’s happening, but not necessary in the way we thought.

That’s right, you guys! After Miley sneakily hinted that she was working with Shawn in the comments of a fan Instagram post recently, and after seemingly teasing a collab on their own personal Instagram accounts, the “Malibu” singer and the “In My Blood” crooner have officially confirmed they’re whipping up something special. And by that, we mean they’re working on a Dolly Parton tribute for this year’s Grammys.

You heard that correctly, folks! The 26-year-old former Disney Star took to Instagram to confirm the news with an adorable photo with her arm around the 20-year-old heartthrob. In the pic, both are wearing a leather jacket with Dolly’s face on it, and while Shawn might not have a direct connection to the country crooner, Miley can’t say the same. IRL, Dolly is Miley’s Godmother, and she even appeared in Hannah Montana on a few occasions.

The “Wrecking Ball” crooner captioned her Instagram photo, “This could be the year for the real thing @recordingacademy @shawnmendes @dollyparton.”

Considering the fact that she tagged Shawn, Dolly and the Recording Academy in the picture, it’s pretty clear that they’ll be collaborating on a tribute to the iconic country artist at the awards show on February 10. But what will they sing? Well, she may have hinted at that, too.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the “Jolene” singer’s impressive discography, the first part of MiCy’s caption is actually a lyric from her song, “Islands in the Stream.” Ahh! if this is what they’re performing, we can’t wait to hear it.

Turns out, the “Lost In Japan” singer is just as excited as we are because he, too, shared the adorable photo on his Instagram, which he simply captioned, “@mileycyrus @dollyparton.”

As excited as we all are for this collaboration to take place on the Grammys stage, we know what you’re thinking: Does this mean they don’t have an original song coming out at all? Well, we’re not so sure. Reports have surfaced saying Shawn will be featured on Miley’s next album, but we guess we’ll just have to wait for further info before we get too excited over all the possibilities.
