Sorry, guys, but Camila Mendes is not here for #Barchie! That’s right, the actress recently opened up about the Riverdale Season 4 storyline that totally rocked the world, and she admitted that it was “tough” for her to watch Archie Andrews cheat on her character, Veronica Lodge.
“Oh my god. That was a really tough thing to read, but also I think it adds a lot of complexity to the story,” the 25-year-old told Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview. “I think, you know, it’d be a perfect world if every relationship was perfect all the time. And I think, especially as teenagers, they make mistakes — and Betty’s not immune to that either.”
That’s not all she had to say! The actress also seemingly teased what’s to come in Season 5, and boy, does it sound like it’s going to be good.
“But I’m definitely, like, nervous to see how the audience reacts when Veronica finds out — if she finds out,” the actress added. “I don’t want to say too much.”
As fans know, Camila isn’t the only one spilling the tea on Riverdale‘s upcoming episodes. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa recently dished to TVLine all about what fans can expect in the brand new season.
“Since we have such big events like prom and graduation, and we’d already written [Episodes] 21 and 22… they’re big, emotional episodes, and there’s a lot of stuff with the characters that we’re still playing out, so it felt like maybe what we’ll do is start with the last three episodes,” he shared when talking about the decision to end Season 4 early due to the current coronavirus pandemic. “After being with the kids at the high school for four years, you kind of don’t want to take graduation away from them. So what we’re doing is picking up right where we left off for the first three episodes.”
He also dished on #Barchie’s bittersweet ending and answered the question on everyone’s mind — are they done for good?
“The answer is no. We’ve definitely not seen the last of that story,” he teased. “We haven’t seen the end of that story by a long shot.”
