As soon as beauty guru Tati Westbrook posted a tell-all video on May 10 slamming fellow YouTuber James Charles, total chaos ensued. Many fans started unfollowing and unsubscribing to James after watching the 43-minute video — but you may be surprised to learn just how many of James’ former famous friends unfollowed him on Instagram too.
In case you missed it — or simply can’t keep up with James’ scandals — let us fill you in a bit, shall we? The drama between Tati and the 19-year-old star really became public in April after Coachella weekend. You see, James shared an ad on his Instagram Stories promoting SugarBearHair vitamins, which is a direct competitor of the 37-year-old’s brand, Halo Beauty. After she found out about James’ sponsored post, she took to social media to share how hurt she was. But that wasn’t all. She also went on to explain in her tell-all video that he allegedly manipulates straight men into doing sexual acts with him.
“Oh my God, you tried to trick a straight man into thinking he’s gay yet again,” she said. “And somehow, you’re the victim. You know, it’s really disgusting to manipulate someone’s sexuality — especially when they are still emerging into adulthood.”
Tati isn’t the only celebrity who wants to disassociate from the makeup artist. More stars like Ethan and Grayson Dolan, Emma Chamberlain, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes and Jeffree Star have all unfollowed James on social media.
