YouTuber Gabi DeMartino has set the record straight, and she wants to know that no, she did not throw shade at TikTok star Charli D’Amelio on Twitter. Yep, that’s right, fans were convinced that the 24-year-old internet star had called out Charli after she went on a rant about TikTok taking down some of her videos.
The clip in question showed Gabi dancing while wearing a bikini. After it was taken off the social media app, the influencer told her 1.2 million followers that she didn’t understand why her videos were being deemed “inappropriate.”
“There are literally 15 [year] olds [with] boobies out in bikinis dancing on TikTok but the one time I do this in a one-piece swimsuit it gets taken down?” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
Fans started to speculate that Gabi was throwing some shade towards Charli, who’s 15 and constantly shares videos of herself dancing to the app. But the brunette beauty quickly cleared the air.
“Idk who Charli is yet, I’m [very] new to TikTok. God I sound old! I wasn’t shading anyone I just threw out a random young age,” she replied to a fan on Twitter.
Naturally, social media users screenshotted the interaction and the tweets were reposted to an account called TikTok Room on Instagram. Among seeing the posts, Charli herself responded.
“Bruh, I don’t even have boobies,” she wrote. Gabi has yet to respond to Charli’s Instagram comment.
For those who don’t know, over the past few months, Charli has become a TikTok sensation. The teen quickly rose to fame on the app around November 2019 and has gained so much attention since then. Now, she boasts 16 million followers on the video sharing app and has become known for her epic dance videos. She is also part of the TiKTok squad taking over the internet: the Los Angeles-based “Hype House.” She’s also struck up a pretty public relationship with fellow TikTok star and “Hype House” member, Chase Hudson.
