Get ready sisters — James Charles is coming to VidCon! Yep, that’s right, the YouTube star is ready to make his first public appearance since canceling his Sisters Tour back in May 2019.

For those who don’t know, VidCon is an annual convention — hosted at the Anaheim Convention Center in California — which celebrates “fans, creators, executives and brands who are passionate about online video and building diverse communities.” Well, mark your calendars because VidCon is set to kick off on June 17, 2020 with James taking center stage.

“VidCon’s something I wanted to do for quite a long time, but it never worked out in terms of travel or other things going on,” the 20-year-old makeup mogul told WWD. “This is a year I’m focusing on positivity, new projects and connecting with my fans and getting to see them at every opportunity possible.”

This exciting announcement came a few months after James revealed that he would be launching his own beauty competition show on YouTube. In November 2019, he uploaded a video and revealed that James Charles Instant Influencer would be coming to YouTube in 2020. The series is set to feature six contestants as they compete for the grand prize of $50,000. Fans will be able to watch the makeup artists compete in videos on James’ channel once the show premieres.

When he talked to WWD, James revealed that filming for the competition series is officially complete and over 180 people worked on the show!

“The show is our baby that we are giving birth to in a few months hopefully,” he said. “I love high production, I love going above and beyond for our videos. This is my opportunity to take it to the next level and that’s definitely what we did.”

That’s not all! The social media star also teased his upcoming beauty brand.

“I’ve talked for a while about not wanting to do a beauty line, but after releasing my [Morphe] palette, I changed my mind because I fell in love with the product development process,” he admitted. “My biggest focus in creating my line is innovation and creating products that the beauty market hasn’t seen yet.”

With all these projects in the works, 2020 is most definitely going to be James’ year!
