Nickelodeon viewers know that series like SpongeBob SquarePants, Henry DangeriCarlyKnight SquadThe Thundermans, All That, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide and more have become some of the most iconic throwback shows ever. They were a huge part of so many peoples’ childhood and still bring on so much nostalgia today. As it turns out, there are actually a bunch of seriously shocking behind-the-scenes secrets straight from the sets of your favorite Nickelodeon shows.

Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawnfor one, had a lot go down when the cameras weren’t rolling during the season 3 finale. “No one knows this, but I was actually sick during the entire production!” actress Lizzy Greene told J-14 exclusively in August 2017 about the particular episode. “I had to record the song when I was sick. So I ended up having to go in and record the song solo over again. My voice kind of sounds a little nasally … It was so sad for me because I got to sing and all that stuff but I was losing my voice and all that. In between takes, I was drinking hot tea, doing every remedy I could to make myself not so sick.”

If it wasn’t for his iCarly role, Nathan Kress may not have continued his acting career! “I wasn’t doing enough where I felt like I wanted to stay involved in the industry,” he said during a NickRewind interview in November 2019. “I was on my way out when that audition happened.”

Of course, now we know the actor has officially reprised his role in the reboot series, but how different would it have been if Nathan was never cast as Freddie! These aren’t the only Nickelodeon secrets from set of all your favorite shows. As it turned out, on the Sam & Cat set, there was a picture of Jennette McCurdy‘s grandparents and Sean Flynn‘s hair on Zoey 101 wasn’t real — he wore a wig!

From two series using the same set to characters that were originally supposed to only be on one episode and even little Easter eggs hidden within some shows, so much went on that fans never knew about.
