He has spoken out! Yep, James Charles recently addressed his major 2019 feud with Tati Westbrook in a brand new TikTok video. Following the recent “Bulletproof” trend — where social media users recount a past experience that seemingly made them “bulletproof” — the beauty vlogger shared his side of the story.

“You think you can hurt my feelings? I lost [three] million subscribers in one day [and was] canceled over something I didn’t actually do,” James wrote as the song “Bulletproof” played in the background. He captioned the video with, “2019 was a… dark place.”

As fans know, back in May 2019, Tati shook the entire web when she posted a video called “Bye Sister” where she accused James of lying, manipulating and being a disrespectful person, after he supported one of her rival vitamin companies. Then, one year later, on on June 30, 2020, she posted a tell-all video and claimed that Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star had actually “coerced and manipulated” her into turning James.

Tati explained in the video that although she did not agree with some of James’ actions, “none of her concerns became overwhelming until she met Shane.” She claimed that she only made the 2019 video “because of all the poisonous lies that were fed to her by Shane and Jeffree.”

“I should have known better than to fall for their lies and manipulation but in the end I failed and, instead, I allowed Shane and Jeffree to put a wedge between our friendship,” she said.

Shane later responded and claimed that all of Tati’s statements were “lies.” He also apologized for his past actions. His YouTube channel has since been demonetized and Morphe and Target have seemingly removed his products from their stores. Jeffree also responded, and he seemingly denied Tati’s statements while also offering James a public apology.
