She’s speaking out. Demi Lovato hit back after alleged “fake” screenshots of fiancé Max Ehrich‘s past Twitter posts gushing over Selena Gomez resurfaced online.

“It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other. If women have conflict that’s between them NOT YOU,” the songstress, 28, posted to Instagram Stories on Sunday, September 13. She then urged her 93.2 million followers to worry about more important issues before acknowledging the continued interest in her personal life.

“But then I stop and think … it’s hella rude but damn … I get it,” the former Disney Channel star wrote. “And I don’t wanna look at what’s really happening in the world either but WE HAVE TO. Yes, it’s easier to tear apart celebrities and their relationships because 2020 sucks and scares the s–t out of us all but it’s only gonna stay terrifying until we address it all and WORK ON SOLUTIONS TOGETHER.”

Demi continued, “So while on one hand I understand and have compassion for those who are so horrified at the reality of 2020 that they gotta distract themselves with doctored images in order to not focus on how bad these times are, but on the other hand, if you aren’t 13 years old trying to grasp the reality of right now, put on your adult underpants and write about what actually matters.”

In one clip that’s since gone viral, Max — whose Twitter account appears to have been deleted — praised Selena’s career.

“She’s so talented. She’s a great singer also. So, I’d love to sing with her. I’d love to act with her. She’s awesome,” the actor, 29, said in a 2010 interview.

Previously, in July, fans also shared alleged screenshots of since-deleted tweets from Max’s account in which he claimed that he was “going to marry” Selena.

As fans know, Demi and Selena have had a tumultuous friendship over the years. They first met after starring in Barney together as kids, but Demi revealed that weren’t friends anymore after Selena supported her 2020 Grammy Awards performance.

“When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them. But I’m not friends with her, so it felt… ” she said to Harper’s Bazaar in May, when asked about Selena’s Grammys tribute. “I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best.”

As for Demi and Max, the couple first sparked romance rumors in March and, after a few months together, announced their engagement in July.

“I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all,” Demi wrote on Instagram at the time, alongside photos of the proposal. “You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you.”
