Is Sabrina Carpenter Single? Exes and Rumored Romances

Ever since she was propelled into the spotlight, Sabrina Carpenter‘s love life has been under a microscope. The Girl Meets World actress has been linked to a bunch of guys over the years, and it’s honestly hard to keep track of which romances were real and which ended up being just rumors.

Most fans know, she dated fellow Disney Channel alum Bradley Steven Perry for a little over a year in 2014 until they called it quits. It’s also been reported that Sabrina was romantically involved with Bradley Simpson, Corey Fogelmanis and Griffin Gluck in the past.

Fans were also convinced that Sabrina was dating High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star Joshua Bassett. In August 2020, they were spotted grabbing lunch together while out in Los Angeles, according to photos obtained by Just Jared Jr.

Romance rumors ramped up even more in October 2020 when they wore matching Halloween costumes. The pair dressed up as Sharkboy and Lavagirl, and posted a series of TikTok videos together. In January 2021, it appeared they were still going strong after fans shared photos of the two together in Park City, Utah.

It’s unclear where their relationship stands now as neither Sabrina nor Joshua have publicly acknowledged the relationship rumors. The pair was supposed to collaborate on a song together, titled “We Both Know,” for the HSMTMTS star’s EP, but it wasn’t released because of the drama surrounding their possible romance.

“I didn’t want my EP to be overshadowed by some other narrative that people were trying to make,” the singer told Billboard in February 2021, referring to Olivia Rodrigo‘s “Drivers License” drama. “I really want the focus to be on the art instead of some of the talk and the chatter. You shouldn’t live to please everybody, but at the same time, there are ways to be sensitive to situations where maybe [‘We Both Know’] has a better chance at a different time.”

When it came to talking about love, Sabrina stayed vague during a May 2021 conversation with Interview magazine, but she did call it “the most beautiful thing in the world and the most painful thing in the world at the same time.”

“But the beauty outweighs the pain,” the actress added. “I would hope that whoever I marry is a fan. And I hope that I’m the biggest fan of the person that I marry.”

Bradley Steven Perry

Sabrina and Bradley dated back in 2014. At the time, she told J-14 exclusively that he asked her out in the cutest way ever. “[It was a] really unique way to ask someone out. [It was] like the pirate movies, like they do the little bottles and they put notes in them and send them across the ocean, like one of those, and [he] put a note inside. It was cute,” she shared.

It’s unclear what went wrong, but they went their separate ways in December 2015.

Bradley Simpson

Fans started to speculate that Sabrina and Bradley were dating after the singer joined Bradley and his band, The Vamps, on tour in 2017 and posted a bunch of cute pics together. However, she shut down dating rumors during an interview with Seventeen, explaining, “We completely ignore it. For me, first of all, I didn’t know about all this. Bradley also isn’t on social media very much. I think we just try to live in reality as much as we can.”

Corey Fogelmanis

After they starred in Girl Meets World together, fans quickly started shipping Sabrina and Corey. Sabrina addressed the dating rumors in a 2018 Instagram post.

“Happy birthday Corey,” the star wrote. “You’re a great friend and I’m honored to know you, and not date you. Thanks for being there for me and not dating me. Love you so much. Platonically.”

Griffin Gluck

After they starred alongside each other in the movie Tall Girl, some fans started to wonder if Sabrina and Griffin were dating. They posted a bunch of sweet photos together on social media and in October 2019, they were even photographed in matching Halloween costumes! Unfortunately, they never spoke out about the rumored relationship, so it’s still unclear what exactly went wrong, but in August 2020, Bustle reported that they had split up.

Joshua Bassett

Fans first started speculating that Joshua and Sabrina were together after they were spotted together at a Black Lives Matter protest in July 2020. Then, Just Jared Jr. shared paparazzi pics of the pair at lunch together in Los Angeles a month later. After they stayed pretty quiet about their rumored romance, the pair started videos of themselves dressed as Sharkboy and Lavagirl on Halloween in 2020, which added to dating speculation.

In January 2021, the apparent couple was seen together in Park City, Utah after a fan shared photos with them both on Twitter. Then, days later, Joshua’s rumored ex, Olivia Rodrigo, released a song called “Drivers License,” which fans are convinced is about Sabrina and Joshua’s relationship. Sabrina seemingly confirmed their romance with her own song “Skin,” which fans are convinced was a response to Olivia’s single.

Shawn Mendes

Sabrina and Shawn Mendes sparked romance rumors in February 2023 after they were spotted on a public outing together. While they were seen out together multiple times, Shawn was quick to set the record straight in March 2023, revealing that they were “not dating,” during an interview with RTL Boulevard.

David Dobrik

Sabrina sparked romance rumors with the internet star in February 2023, when Instagram gossip account DeuxMoi hinted at their apparent romance. They appeared to add fuel to the fire in August of that year after they were spotted partying at Lollapalooza in Chicago, an eyewitness shared to Page Six. However, neither of them have commented publicly on the romance rumors.
