In December 2020, a fan asked Joe to show off his latest ink design, and the singer revealed a tattoo inspired by artist George Condo.

Circles on his forearm

Joe’s wife showed off his latest collection of tats via Instagram Stories on October 5. Located on his left forearm, the ink seems to represent the saying, “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”

An arrow on the back of his arm.

Joe and his brother Nick got matching tattoos back in September 2016, right before they attended the MTV Video Music Awards. They each got small arrows on the back of their arms. The boys have never opened up about the meaning behind the ink designs, but traditionally, arrows symbolize moving forward.

He later added an outline of a heart right above the small arrow design.

Joe got this ink on his lower left arm in March 2016. And the meaning behind it is seriously so touching.

“I’ve always been attracted to the number three. It’s got three points, I’ve got three brothers,” he told Rolling Stone. “Another important thing is the hand — it’s an open hand, a female hand. It’s giving, like Mother Nature.”

An African symbol on the back of his arm.

The “Sucker” singer got this African symbol inked onto the back of his right arm in October 2012. It means “help me and let me help you,” and is said to honor his charity work in Africa.

Joe added this portrait of his grandfather onto his upper right arm in July 2018. It’s clear that his family means a lot to him!

‘The Persistence of Memory’ painting on his shoulder.

The former Camp Rock star got this ink design in July 2018. It’s a small version of one of Salvador Dali‘s paintings, called “The Persistence of Memory.” The painting shows a bunch of melting clocks and is said to symbolize the loss of power over time.

Joe got a woman tattooed onto his arm in March 2018. Fans quickly noticed that it looked a lot like his wife, Sophie, and started to think that it was a portrait of her. But according to Joe, that’s not the case at all!

“There’s a lot of speculation of who or what it is. It’s quite funny and a little disappointing probably for a lot of fans of my fiancée that it’s really just a picture of nothing,” he told 9TheFix.

The singer explained that the tattoo artist had drawn it long before he even got to the tattoo shop, and when he saw it, he instantly fell in love with it.

“I was like, ‘Oh, that’s cool. I’ll pick that,” he added. “So, there’s not anybody that I’d say it is, but eventually I’ll come up with a name for her. For now, she’s a mystery.”

The number “15” on his finger.

So his woman sitting tattoo may not be for Sophie, but this one sure is! The singer got the number 15, which symbolizes the day the couple got engaged, inked on his ring finger in April 2018. In case you forgot, Joe proposed on October 15, 2017.

“To infinity” on his wrist.

Joe and Sophie also got matching Toy Story ink designs in October 2018. He got the words, “To infinity,” and she got the words, “And beyond,” on their wrists. OUR HEARTS.

Joe also has a small “S” tattoo right underneath the quote, which is also dedicated to his wife! Sophie has a “J” in the same spot. Yeah, they are seriously goals.

His dog Waldo on his arm.

After Joe and Sophie’s dog Waldo Picasso unfortunately passed away after he was struck by a car in July 2019, they both got an ink design of the late pup’s face. The little guy will definitely never be forgotten!

A rope on his arm.

Joe’s first ever tattoo was two ropes tied into an infinity knot on his right arm. The ink symbolizes his strong bond with his family! How sweet?

“Two ropes (parents) makes four ends (brothers),” he explained on Instagram.

A piece of cake on the back of his arm.

As fans know, Joe formed the band DNCE after the Jonas Brothers broke up. And one of their biggest songs was called “Cake by the Ocean!” He got this ink in June 2016, as a tribute to the song and its success.

Joe added this tattoo in August 2018. He’s yet to reveal the meaning behind it, but bird ink designs are said to symbolize freedom. He also has a small crown tattooed next to it!

Lyrics on his arm.

Joe got the lyrics from the song “Mr. Blue Sky” by British rock group Electric Light Orchestra permanently inked onto his body in January 2019.

“Sun is shinin’ in the sky. There ain’t a cloud in sight. It’s stopped rainin’ everybody’s in a play. And don’t you know It’s a beautiful day,” the lyrics read.
