While discussing her new song, “We Belong,” Dove Cameron opened up about her bisexuality.
For those who missed it, the tune came out on July 23, 2020, and it is set to be featured in the upcoming After sequel, After We Collided. And on Friday, August 7, the blonde beauty chatted with the author of the book series the movies were inspired by, Anna Todd, during an Instagram Live. During their livestream, Dove got real about the lyric video for the new song, which showed two women kissing, two men kissing, and a man and woman kissing.
“I think that’s really beautiful, speaking as someone who is bi. I didn’t want my art and my visuals to only reflect heterosexual couples,” she explained.
The former Disney actress also retweeted a screen recording of her talking about it from the Live, adding a heart.

As fans know, back in 2017, the Descendants alum sent the internet into a frenzy when she was spotted holding hands and kissing fellow actress Kiersey Clemons in a series of social media posts.
At the time, she also liked a tweet that read, “@DoveCameron like this if [you’re] bisexual.”
Bella Thorne even said she wanted to date the 24-year-old a few days later, when she replied to a fan who said they would be “goals” and asked if she would be interested in Dove.
“I have thought about it,” she wrote.
Previously, the Liv and Maddie star was linked to her costar Ryan McCartan in 2015. They were the ultimate Disney Channel power couple at the time, and they even got engaged! But in October 2016, they shocked the world when they both took to Twitter to let fans know that they had decided to go their separate ways. After that, they shaded each other left and right on social media and in interviews, and get this — they even accused each other of cheating.
Now, Dove is happily dating Thomas Doherty. They met and fell for each other on set of Descendants, and celebrated their three-year anniversary back in February 2020.
