Hanna Wickes

Summary

Hanna is the editor of J-14 Magazine, something that her 14-year old self would never have believed if you told her. She hails from the Hudson Valley of New York, which is a fancy way of saying upstate. She’s an avid K-pop fan, idolizes Stevie Nicks to an almost worrisome degree and can often be found reading fantasy novels, tarot cards or her friends’ astrological charts (she’s a Virgo). Hanna often writes about K-pop, Harry Styles and her favorite teen shows.

Work or writing background leading to expertise

She started working as a writer for J-14 Magazine in April 2022, which served as her first stint in the entertainment industry. Prior to that, she gained most of her writing experience as a local news reporter at Straus News, where she also interned at in 2019. In 2020, Hanna and her best friends created a submission-based art and fashion magazine called Clementine Magazine, where she wrote and edited articles. She became digital editor of J-14 in November 2023.

Education

Hanna has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she graduated from in 2020.

Work history

She worked as a writer, reporter and prepress coordinator for Straus News prior to being hired at J-14 in April 2022.
