‘All The Bright Places’

This adorable Netflix flick is set to hit screens on February 28, 2020. It stars Elle Fanning and Justice Smith, and it’s all about a young couple who is struggling with the emotional and physical scars of their past.

‘Runt’

It’s been seven months since Cameron Boyce tragically passed away, and now, a new flick featuring the late Disney star is in the works. The movie, called Runt, was filmed months before his heartbreaking death, and is set to premiere at the Mammoth Film Festival on February 29, 2020. According to Deadline, the actor will play a boy named Cal in the new movie — a teenager who experiences a troubling incident that makes him a cold and angry person.

‘Onward’

Onward is about to become everyone’s new favorite movie! Starring Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, it’s about two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, who go on an journey to try to uncover whether or not there is still a little magic left in the world. They’re on a mission to find it so they can spend one last day with their father, who died when they were too young to remember him. It hits theaters on March 6, 2020!

‘Stargirl’

Based off the fan-favorite young adult novel by Jerry Spinelli, the movie stars Grace VanderWaal, Karan Brar and Graham Verchere. Disney+ dropped the first trailer for the upcoming film on January 15, 2020, and from the looks of it, this coming-of-age flick is definitely going to be a must-see. Mark those calendars and set those reminders because Stargirl premieres on the streaming site on March 13, 2020.

‘I Still Believe’

Get the tissues ready because KJ’s upcoming film I Still Believe is sure to bring on the waterworks. The 22-year-old took on the role of Christian music star Jeremy Camp for the movie. Aside from the Riverdale actor, it also stars Britt Robertson, country music star Shania Twain and Gary Sinise. It comes out on March 13, 2020, and fans can’t wait!

‘Mulan’

A live-action remake of of Mulan is set to hit theaters on March 27, 2020. It will star Yifei Liu as the fierce princess, and will follow her as she disguises herself as a man to battle northern invaders in China.

‘Scoob!’

Everyone’s favorite dog is returning to the big screen this year! Yep, Scooby Doo and the gang will have to face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever in this new animated movie, which comes out on May 15, 2020. If that wasn’t exciting enough, just wait until you hear all the big names that are starring in it! Mckenna Grace, Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, Gina Rodriguez, Ariana Greenblatt and more will voice characters in the new movie — wow, how epic is that?!

‘Spongebob: Sponge On The Run’

Are you ready, kids? There’s a new SpongeBob SquarePants movie hitting theaters on May 22, 2020. According to the trailer, it’s set to be SpongeBob and his friends’ biggest adventure yet. After his pet snail, Gary, goes missing, the fry cook grabs his best friend, Patrick Star, and they hit the road to try to find him.

‘Soul’

Disney and Pixar, who were behind flicks like Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Cars, Up and more, are releasing a brand new movie called Soul this year. It’s set to premiere on June 19, 2020 and it’s about a middle-school music teacher who dreams of playing at legendary New York jazz club “The Blue Note.”

‘Jungle Cruise’

This movie is based on Disneyland’s theme park ride, where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles — and a supernatural element. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Emily Blunt, Jesse Plemons and more are starring in it, and it comes out on July 24, 2020.

‘West Side Story’

Steven Spielberg’s upcoming remake of the West Side Story is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2020. The story follows two gangs – the Sharks and the Jets – in the ’50s, battling for New York City turf. Things get very Romeo and Juliet when Tony (a Jet) falls in love with Maria, the sister of the Sharks’ leader. Can you say drama? The cast includes Ansel Elgort, Maddie Ziegler, Mike Faist and Rachel Zegler.

‘Clifford the Big Red Dog’

Did anyone else read Clifford the Big Red Dog when they were little? Well, the iconic pup is coming to the big screen this year! The movie will star Jack Whitehall, Kenan Thompson and Rosie Perez, and will premiere on November 13, 2020.

‘Chemical Hearts’

Not only is Lili set to star in Chemical Hearts, but she’s also producing the new movie! The film doesn’t have a release date just yet, but according to Deadline production kicked off last summer. It’s based of a novel by Krystal Sutherland, which follows a boy named Henry Page who’s desperate to fall in love, but when a transfer student named Grace Town comes to his school, sparks instantly fly.

‘The Diary’

There’s not a lot of info on The Diary just yet, but what we do know is that Noah Centineo will be starring in the flick and that the legendary Jackie Chan will direct it. Hopefully the release some more deets soon!

‘After: We Collided’

Let’s get a show of hands — who else was obsessed with After? The Harry Styles-inspired flick hit theaters back in April 2019, and it quickly became a fan favorite movie. Well guys, they’re making a sequel to it, called After We Collided, and it sounds like it’s going to be even steamier.

That’s right, Hardin and Tessa’s love story isn’t finished just yet — and everyone cannot wait to see what happens next! According to Deadline, both Hero Fiennes-Tiffin and Josephine Langford are set to reprise their roles in the second movie. And get this — Dylan Sprouse revealed in August 2019 that he’s joining the already-epic cast! OMG. The release date hasn’t been announced yet, but filming has already wrapped.

‘The Babysitter 2’

They’re also making a sequel to The Babysitter, and fans can’t wait! For those who forgot, the original flick came out in 2017, and it quickly became a fan favorite. It was about a boy named Cole, who discovered that his babysitter was a part of a satanic cult. It starred Bella Thorne, Samara Weaving, Judah Lewis, Hana Mae Lee, Robbie Amell, Andrew Bachelor, Emily Alyn Lind and more!

The sequel will take place two years after the first movie ended, and fans are pretty excited to see what happens next. The Hollywood Reporter reported that in the second flick, Cole “is trying to forget his past and focus on surviving high school. But when old enemies unexpectedly return, he will once again have to outsmart the forces of evil.”

How intense does that sound?! It’s already been confirmed that almost everyone from the cast of the first movie will return for the second — except, Samara, who played the evil babysitter in the original film. Plus, Jenna Ortega has joined the cast of the highly anticipated sequel, so it’s safe to say it’s going to be epic.

‘Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe’

They’re back! Disney is making a new Phineas and Ferb movie, more than four years after the iconic show went off the air. There’s no release date for it just yet, but it’s set to premiere at some point during 2020 on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.

‘The Princess Switch: Switched Again’

Brace yourselves, people, because Netflix announced in October 2019 that they’re making a sequel to the The Princess Switch, called The Princess Switch: Switched Again, and boy, does it sound like it’s going to be good!

According to the Netflix “See What’s Next” Twitter account, there’s set to be some major trouble in paradise for Duchess Margaret and Kevin in the upcoming flick. They also confirmed that Vanessa Hudgens and Nick Sagar will both return for the second movie, but there’s no word on the other stars just yet.

“In the sequel, Duchess Margaret unexpectedly inherits the throne and hits a rough patch with Kevin, so it’s up to Stacy to save the day before a new lookalike — party girl Fiona — foils their plans,” the account shared.

It’s unclear when exactly it’ll come out, but it’s safe to assume it’ll premiere sometime around Christmas!

‘The Prom’

The Prom is an upcoming musical comedy directed by Glee‘s Ryan Murphy! It’s based on the Broadway musical of the same name and slated for release sometime in 2020. Although there was originally speculation that Ariana Grande was starring in it, that turned out to be only rumors, but the cast does include Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman and Keegan-Michael Key!

‘To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean’

We have the best news ever! Netflix revealed last year that a third installment to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is already in production! Yep, the fact that fans get to see Lana Condor and Noah Centineo on screen together again is seriously amazing!

Author of the book series that inspired the romantic comedies, Jenny Han, told Entertainment Tonight that “fans should always be worried” about Lara Jean and Peter’s relationship in the third flick.

“The third movie really explores what happens when you’re in a relationship and then you have all the real-life stuff that comes into play,” she admitted. “If I’m doing my job right, you’re worried.”

Lana agreed with Jenny, but added that her character definitely grows up in the third film, calling it the “most mature” out of all three movies.

“She really starts to make decisions for herself that might be unpopular but I think at the end of the day, as a young woman, you have to protect your own heart and make the decisions that are truly right for you regardless of the other people around you,” the actress said. “Lara Jean loves love and she loves the guys, but at the end of the day, I know that she’s good on her own as well. We’ll see. It’s very satisfying, like, ‘Yes, girl! Get your life!’”

There’s no release date for it just yet, but hopefully Netflix announces something soon!

‘The Kissing Booth 2’

According to Netflix, here’s what will go down in the second movie: “Elle Evans just had the most romantic summer of her life with her reformed bad-boy boyfriend Noah Flynn. But now Noah is off to Harvard, and Elle heads back to high school for her senior year. She’ll have to juggle a long-distance relationship, getting into her dream college with her best friend Lee, and the complications brought on by a close friendship with a handsome, charismatic new classmate named Marco (played by Taylor). When Noah grows close to a seemingly-perfect college girl (that’s Maisie!), Elle will have to decide how much she trusts him and to whom her heart truly belongs.”

All the epic stars from the first flick, including  Joey King, Jacob Elordi, Joel Courtney and more, will be back for number two, so get excited, people!

‘Work It’

There’s a new Netflix dance movie called Work It in the works, starring Jordan Fisher, Sabrina Carpenter and Liza Koshy. The flick will follow the journey of a girl named Quinn Ackerman, whose college admission depends on her performance at a big dance competition. The only problem is — she has how no idea how to dance! She decides to form a dance crew of misfits to take on the best crew in school, and naturally, the results are hilarious.
